Ask the rohingya about nationalism.
When the very definition of the word includes "nationalism serves to marginalize minorities who live within a nation-state but do not share the necessary characteristics to be considered part of the nation" ....you either gotta find a new word to use or clarify you only using part of the meaning.
Common sense, unless you're a denialist.
