Building a wall is not cost effective. At the same time, illegal immigration is down. Why spend money on something that is not cost effective to solve a problem that is becoming less of a problem every day?

Even more so now after our deficit is through the roof because we gave the rich a hug tax cut.
Walls work great in most areas. China, Soviet union, Israel, Berlin. Your point about putting it places where no one crosses is good. If after the wall is built they don't start using those spots.

Building a wall is cost effective if it reduces the numbers of illegals trying to get into the States. Check upon the facts.

On average, it costs $10,615 to send a kid to public school for a year. (That's federal, state and local government spending combined.) As the map above shows, that one number masks a huge variation. Utah spends just over $6,000 per student; New York and the District of Columbia over $18,000.
So a child costs $100,615 for ten years. Now multiply that by all the illegal children and those born to illegal children per year and see what the costs of just educating them is.
