Instead of wasting billions on a wall, I would rather see us use that money to go after the people that are facilitating those who live here. As you say, there are plenty of ways to find illegals. If we cut off their ability to get welfare (birthright citizenship) and their ability to get a job, they will stop coming here, no wall needed.

A Wall is only capable of stopping some illegals, only a fool thinks it was meant to stop all. Other measures are called for and the target areas have to be employers of illegals and the fines increased up to prison and paying for the cost of finding and deporting them. Housing is another area where it's possible to crack down on landlords. Then driving licenses. No job, home or car will stop a lot. But so far no President has offered that. Because they don't want to put the bosses of big corporations in jail.
