It's all calculated by how to keep him in jail for life because of appeals, overturned verdicts etc...
419 years is way less (1/3+) years; because of time off for good behavior; but then that gets reduced even more because of overcrowding and sentence reform laws.
In other words : if his life sentence is overturned then he still has a life sentence because he will be dead before 139 years old.
