I get your point, but you're missing the main issue. If Trump was a regular guy, he can pay off all the women he wants. It's civil, its private, its no ones business.
But in this particular case, he was running for president at the time. And in this particular case, he broke the law. And furthermore, his family knew about it, and helped him do it. What he did was against the law, and lying about it is against the law. More importantly, he lied to you about it.
What happens one day if a nuclear conflict was brewing somewhere that could result in losses to American lives. After seeing Trump lie about this and other things, would you trust him to tell you the truth about something that bad?
