Im my opinion Trump is just one of many symptoms of a once powerful empire falling.
There seems to be no credible democrat Presidential candidate, it's crazy to consider someone as old as Bernie Sanders for the job.
Ideally the next US President would be a centrist, with a good academic foundation who understands economics and foreign policy. He would be in his mid 40s to mid 50s.
There's nobody that the Democrats or Republicans can offer right now who fits that criteria, so we will just continue to see the decline of the United States, the continued rise of China and the neglect of eyes on Russia and countries like Syria and Iran which will come back to bite the west because the USA couldn't constrain these countries.
