They called Russian soldiers شوروی, (šouravī) and they called American soldiers just pigs. The Russians have called them Mujahadins. Feel the respect from the both sides.
Russia (the Soviet Union of course) has lost more than 8000 of soldiers in that war. The approximate loses of Mujahadins is about one million. The Soviets did not use nukes, Did not use Agent Orange and other WMD's. It was a fair fight.
