I'm sure the next time a guy walks into a Mosque in Iraq and blows up 200 people or drives a commercial truck through a crowded market, we can somehow all take comfort in that fact that a guy somewhere broke the law and was punished for it. While the crimes committed are horrendous, that's not current controversy, its the way the Catholic Church has tried and still is trying to cover up the crimes of their pedo priests. Once it was known charges were going to be laid they pulled Pell out of Australia, gave him the highest job at the Vatican.. Treasurer, and then fought his extradition for 7 years, and then when he did come back.. have spent more than 5 million trying to cover it up more.. just typing this could get me arrested here as its all under gag order.
BTW if you want to talk 14 centuries.. how many millions did the Catholics kill? 50-100 million, would be a good guesstimate?
