Everyone is for border security. However, border security is not the same as building a wall.
In 2006 there was a bipartisan bill called the Secure Fence act. Obama voted for it. The end result was over 600 miles of fencing between 18-26 feet. It cost something like $1.8 billion. The end result was.... It had a limited effect on stopping drug smuggling and illegal immigration.
This is why everyone is against this. You can build a fence or a wall but it's not going to stop people from going around it. The majority of illegal activity comes through ports of entry, and for the rest they go over it, under it, around it, or even through it.
