*Ahem*... Now:
The sad fact is that we are too far away for any aliens to come and visit. To get from there to hear requires ships that can fly hundreds of times faster than the speed of light. Not only does it required an obscene amount of energy if it were possible, it is just plain impossible to go faster than the speed of light. Managing wormholes and other exotic ideas also costs a shitload of energy. It's impossible, its impractical, its expensive. There are no aliens here.
Is alien life possible in our own solar system? Hell Yes. I'm betting the farm that we discover genuine alien life below the surface of Europa, or maybe in an under water cavern of Mars if it exists. Europa is still the best bet for me.
Is today's signal proof of alien life? Who knows, but it sure is interesting. My fingers are cross that the signal is not natural, but instead manufactured and intentional.
Don't get me wrong. I LOVE Science Fiction. I enjoy Star Wars and 2001 and X-files and Aliens and Interstellar and CONTACT more than anyone. I love love science, and science says the Aliens are Out There, not in here.

Yes testimonies are evidence. Our justice put people in jail based on this all the time. But anyway we have much more than testimonies. We have Air to Air radar, Ground to Air Radar. Metals with isotopes showing that they were not from here, documents. etc etc.
To far to get here???
This is with the physic we know only! We were using horses to travel just about 100 years ago. We know nothing yet! Just a year or two ago quantum physics experiments showed that two atoms entangled are interacting in real time no matter how far they are from each other. We have no idea how this is possible but still we now know it is real.
Poor humans always think they know everything, 1000 years ago they knew everything, 500 years ago they knew everything, 100 years ago, today, tomorrow. but still we no nothing yet. When those two brothers were working on the first plane, the newspapers were saying it would never work. We know just a bit about mass/space/time etc. we haven't been able to play with it just yet.
