im aware that during ONE siege in USSR in leningrad died more civilians than combined loses of UK and USA during WW2...However..it was also churchill that never wanted to pact with Nazis (UK fighting alone until 1941, when USSR and Nazis were best friends until 1941) and it was US that helped USSR and others with their shipments of trucks, clothes, food etc.
now, as for the losses - huge losses of USSR are not only proof of this country's effort to kill the nazism, proof of real German cruelty on eastern front and how they treated all people under their GeneralOstplan, BUT ALSO - proof of what was the life worth of USSR citizen for Soviet generals and commanders.
Also, dont tell me about losses and effort in WW2 - country where I was born has a lot to say about it
it tasted both the nazi cruelty and commie stupidity, lost almost 20 % of its population "thanks" to Nazi Germans and was meant to be eradicated for lebensraum...But was also home of the biggest Underground/ Partisan organisation back then in Europe
that was constant pain the ass for Germans
now, as for the commies - its not the XIX century anymore, comrade. The USA was fighting commies already when everyone knew that they failed - with USSR, Cuba, North Korea and few others. communism is good theory when you are idealist 13 years old and read a lot of books.
of course, I dont deny that fighting communism in South America was also a help to secure US interests...but if you will look now at two countries, Colombia and Venezuela (one- friend/ neutral to US, other - commie and enemy of US), you will have an answer where people live better... and dont blame Americans for this..blame commies stupidity.
