Ya sure. Tell us about Thomas Jefferson's quran. Now I know you'll run to google and read the washington's compost article but the truth is in the comments.

Hmmmn...Mssr. Rosenberg is conveniently leaving the elephant-in-the-room "complications" out here. He doesn't bother going into why POTUS 3 purchased his Koran in the 1st place. American shipping in the Mediterranean was plagued by pirates of the Maghreb. The piracy was an official policy of the Ottoman provinces of North Africa. Jefferson found this out from Tripoli's ambassador directly in 1785. The policy was based on the Koran itself as Hitchen's noted: "one cannot get around what Jefferson heard when he went with John Adams to wait upon Tripoli’s ambassador to London in March 1785. When they inquired by what right the Barbary states preyed upon American shipping, enslaving both crews and passengers, America’s two foremost envoys were informed that “it was written in the Koran, that all Nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon whoever they could find and to make Slaves of all they could take as prisoners, and that every Mussulman who should be slain in battle was sure to go to Paradise.”
Jefferson, astonished, bought the book to be certain this theocratic lunacy wasn't the ambassador's fantasy. Hence, the salient legacy of TJ's copy of the "holy" Koran acquistion was to verify the books endorsement, in fact encouragement, of perpetual violence and oppression unto the infidel. THIS is the story. The WP's avoidance of it, through either ignorance or preference, abets Trumpian ravings about fake news. Rosenberg completely ignores the very reason for the book's existence as a Jeffersonian artifact: to convince himself beyond doubt that Islam's tenets were an existential threat to free speech, freedom of conscience, freedom of commerce and freedom period. Those facts might be down the memory hole at the WP but aren't quite erased elsewhere yet...
