I think the abortion issue is a way of conservative men controlling a woman's right to give and take life. Conservative men want to have control of that. They used to be against birth control as well. Like you said, God complex.

What I don't understand about partial birth abortion is how can a mother's life be at risk when she's giving birth to the baby and it's being killed with only its head left inside her vagina and then as soon as its brains are scrambled with the instrument they pull the head out. So clearly the mother was never in danger of the birth so that can't be the rationale for having the abortion.
