Nowhere in the Quran does it say you must pray 5 times a day and cover everything but eyes. That shit is enforced by the rightards of the Muslim world and observed willingly by those who wish to practice it.

There were two Muslim families in the town I grew up in and they were both within blocks of my house. They had fled Iran because of the violence there. One family the father was a dentist the other family the father was a contractor.
Neither of them prayed 5 times a day or wore the hajib. They were really nice people and the kids were fun to grow up with. We rode our bikes together and everything. Lots of good times. This is why when people bring up how muslims want to kill Gay people and all that other crap it's exactly like the right wing of Christianity but they're blind to that. Gay men know about others Gats that have been beat to death I hate white Christian men who thought they were Superior. Growing up with normal Americanized Muslims takes away the foreign "boogyman" aspect of fear the right tries to scare people into.
