Excuse me...
How is a wall going to stop a shipment of cucumbers hiding drugs ?
Since we in the US get a nearing majority of our produce from Mexico now...
and we have this new NAFTA that insures this trade will allow workers who shit in the fields and get paid even less get past the wall free card and give us all e coli and other bacterial disorders while we squeeze more money from the budget of the FDA so they are unable to catch that bad produce.
Waste mexico's money not mine like Trump said !
I am not against giving money for a wall or any structure that 'the border patrol' was asking for 2 or more years ago. But not for any made-up cause that serves nobody except for political BS.
Funny. If there was a wall all the way across and no ports through, at a cost of probably 450B+, your new problem would be the shoreline and boating and someone to police the wall for tunnels and jumpers. So, it solves nothing. A wall with nobody watching it is just a steep hill.
If you don't want them up here, fine those that would hire them.
Problem here is, republicans made a legal method for them to be here. Lobbied by the ag co's in the south.
Each person is a 1099-s independent contractor. They take out only for SSI.
Min wage has no bearing on contract wages. It's all legal. That is why they scream amnesty when it looks like they have worked out a comprehensive imigration policy. Republicans want the status quo. If they are citizens, they can't get away with cheap wages and poor treatment.
There are no checks to see if they go home after their permit expires in 2 years.
So if anyone is actually serious about this problem, it's quite easy to see where to start.
