Roger Stone, love or hate him ... has balls as a master manipulator. He is not in hiding, but out in front trying to control this enourmous mess. He is swaying public opinion, and that of a future jury pool. Also any public attack on the Judge presiding over the trial, plays in his favor. IMHO arguements can be later raised by his defense team that the Judges decisions where biased.
