Same reason that people lie about little things every single day.
Obama lied about smoking and sneaks off to do it behind his wife's back for instance. Nobody cares about that kind of thing.
We DID care when he went on national television and lied openly about the attack on Benghazi and claimed it was because of a video when he KNEW it was a terrorist attack.
And he did that because he was not wanting that to come out as a terrorist attack during the campaign against Romney because Obama was claiming that we had "won" the war on terror.
We DID care a few years earlier when Pres. Obama went on national television over and over and rallys all over the country to push for "ObamaCare" and LIED when he said our healthcare costs would go DOWN by $2,500 a year per family (mine went up $12,000 a year) and we could "keep your plan and keep your doctor".
Those are the kinds of lies we care about.
We didn't care about Bill Clinton fucking young interns and lying about it (his poll numbers went to over 70% approval AFTER he was impeached), we didn't care if Obama lied about smoking, and we don't care what you THINK Trump is lying about in respect to how tall he is (you have no idea his actual height).
We care about things that have to do with the job of the Presidency.
Lots of people were anti-Bill Clinton. But nobody can seriously argue that after the first two years...he kicked ass as President.
And that is what Trump has done in his first two years.
