A crime committed in 2006 is still a crime.... A lot of these crimes seem to have happened more recently.
Manafort was found guilty of filing false tax forms, failing to file foreign bank account reports, bank fraud, brand fraud conspiracy, hidden bank accounts... And more. And not just "one charge each" - for each charge there was either four or five counts. This is dozens of crimes. Bank fraud is so serous you can get thirty years in prison for it. This is not some bullshit trumped up charges that happened in 2006 (no pun intended). These are very serious crimes that can end up being decades in prison.
Roger Stone is being charged with obstruction, witness tampering and making false statements... All of which happened in the past two years.
Micheal Cohen is being charged with Tax fraud, making false statements to a financial institution, unlawful corporate contributions, and excessive campaign contributions. All of these happened in the past five years.
Everyone around Trump is being charged with very serious crimes that come with very long prison sentences.
Do they think this is all a joke?
This is very simple. If you are going to break the law don't put yourself under the world's biggest microscope.
