- Trump ordered him to have a "straw bidder" to buy a portrait of himself to ensure the price was the highest for any portrait that night, and then had his charity foundation pay $60k for the portrait.
- Trump ordered Cohen to take out a equity line of credit to pay off Stormy Daniels, and then wrote out installment checks to pay Cohen back.... The checks went through the White House mail system.
- Cohen states Trump was fully aware of how the Moscow Trump Tower project was still continuing during the election.
- Trump committed bank fraud by applying for loans using fraudulent information about his assets.
- Trump lied about his "bone spurs" and that he "wasn't stupid and wasn't going to Vietnam".
- Trump had zero confidence in his sons, and that no meetings ever took place without Trump knowing in advance.
- Cohen claims Trump is a racist and made a lot of racist comments,
specifically in Chicago saying things like "Only blacks would live like this" and "blacks were too stupid to vote for him".
Cohen claims Trump never expected to win the primary no less the election, and it was all about marketing his brand from the start.
This is only his opening statement, and he has documents, financial records, checks, and "tapes" to back all of this up. One can only imagine what was discussed behind closed doors. The open testimony Wednesday should be interesting.
Trump is fucked. This is Trump's personal attorney. He knows everything Trump has done in the past ten years. Cohen knows every time Trump broke the law. Cohen has evidence of Trump committing bank fraud; Now we can have yet more investigations into Trump's finances. I'm sure somewhere along the line they will be asking questions about the money Trump received after 9/11, and how Trump might have committed insurance fraud by claiming hurricane damage to his golf course in Florida when no one remembers any damage.
This will spawn yet more investigations.
We are past the point where we should impeach him. We knew this day would come.
