I used to post on a forum where one topic was the opposite of that statement. I’d state that a diseased mind could equate anything with everything.
A TV show about a stolen car could make them steal cars.
A movie with a murder could make them kill.
A newspaper article about rape could make them rape.
Porn makes you horny. YOU choose to commit rape by yourself. Porn shows consensual sexual activity and not forced sex. Regular porn and not fetish porn. But fetish porn showing “forced” activity is actors only and not meant to guide the viewers.
Rape is often an act of revenge against all women. It’s a woman scorning a man and his way “to show her...”. It might be a recreation of a television scene.
But the rapist is not normal in the head to know it’s wrong. Or, they simply don’t care. A former friend raped his girlfriend. He served time and I’d write to him. He admitted he did it and it was because she teased and teased him with clothes, words and actions. No sexual activity but teasing continually. Finally he had enough and took what he was owed. His words.
He knew it was wrong but acted irrationally and in anger. I had mixed feelings about it. He was 1000% wrong but she contributed to his behavior by horrific teasing. You can’t stick a bottle of alcohol under the nose of a recovering alcoholic and expect them to ignore it. Repeatedly doing it breaks down the person. Then again, he should have broken it off and moved on. He wasn’t owed anything yet felt he was after a year of teasing.
Porn doesn’t lead to rape and hunting doesn’t lead to human murder. People can be driven to do bad things when normal. Humans can take just so much. But a smart person will know that wrong is wrong and look for alternatives.
