Your logic falls apart at the seems because millions of people had already bought tickets months ago. Come on dude..
Anyway, look: Here's a short and honest review by me, someone you love and admire and trust.
Captain Marvel was a decent movie. Not the best of the MCU and not the worst.
What I liked:
- It was an origin story that was told in a semi non-linear fashion.
- It was a good story and the movie was well paced.
- The visual effects, especially with Nick Fury's de-aging, was perfect.
What was "ok"
- It didn't feel very 90's to me. Except for the Blockbuster video store scene and the 90's music, this could have been in any era. Like Bumblebee, both movies throw in some old music and old tech and call it a day. I was hoping to see more of the culture of the day instead of just minor references here and there. Though, the scene with the computer and the CD rom were pretty funny.
Here's what I didn't like about it:
- Brie Larson is a good actress, but she didn't seem to act much in this movie. There were a few moments here and there, but mostly she felt kind of stiff to me. And for this reason I found that I didn't care much about what might happen to her.
- Not enough Coulson.
- The movie has no style. The camera is mostly static. The actors are always in the middle of the frame doing their thing. Thor: Ragnarok and especially Captain America: The Winter Soldier, just gushed style. Ragnarok was hyper-visual and felt like they shot from the hip. Winter Soldier was so carefully edited - the Elevator scene for example - drew an incredible amount of tension and anxiety. CM lacked all of this.
So anyway, just go see the movie. Spend less time spreading others misinformation, and spend more working on your own ideas.
