Here in California recently they passed a new law requiring sex ed and LGTB studies in grade school. There seems to be some kind of backlash of people against this, but it's not a large group. We have some locally and I think it's kind of comical.
Sex ed needs to be taught to kids. Kids are growing up much quicker than my generation did.
LGTB needs to be taught too. The standard nuclear family no long exists. Kids need know that their family can be different than other families. I'll never forget when my kid came home and told us her friend lived with her two moms.
