That stupid flag hugging thing he does is transparent. The gears were spinning in his head one time when he came out on stage and he thought "now I know what will really get these rednecks to love me...I'll just hug the flag. Look at these stupid motherfuckers. They're falling for it."
Trump does not care one bit about that flag and what it stands for.
