I saw that earlier and was in shock. Two broken legs and two dislocated knees. The sheer pain she must have been in astounded me

It will take months until she can put weight on those limbs and she may have a permanent limp.

The vsion of the legs breaking will stay with me for a long, long, long time.

All those years of training and all that money for training and no medals. She can coach Olympic gymnasts and have a great career but nothing compares to wnning an Olympic medal.

I’m sure they’ll be studying the films to figure out what happened. The landing looked good to an untrained eye but the odds of both knees AND legs breaking at once is astronomical.

Remember the ABC Sports intro of “the thrill of victory, the agony of defeat” with the skier falling from the jump? This should replace that. Slipping on snow before you jump is bad ... but this gives agony a new meaning.
