Carter Page was suspected of being roped in by Russian intelligence for quite a while before all of this. He was unwittingly (possibly knowingly) being groomed by the Kremlin for spying on the US.
All of these Republicans acting like there was some kind of injustice perpetrated are fucking traitors. Carter page was a Russian stooge. The FISA process worked the way it was supposed to. These people have this this general ignorance about the number of layers which would need to be corrupted in order for what they think happened to actually happen. There's a reason the system is so convoluted and that's to prevent the very thing they say happened.
