Part of me has been with those democrats that say just let it go and catch it at the election because the senate will not go along with impeachment.
But even stronger is the fact that this should not be a norm going forward.
This meets the bar for high crimes and mistermenors and should be taken up by the house even if the senate has not enough votes to finish the job.
It's about holding everyone accountable for the job we elected them for. The senators who will not vote for it can answer to the voters for their action as it should be.
None of this can be ignored.
Trump officials will try to muddy the water up as much as they can as they already have been doing.
I say all of this in support of the constitution and holding all politicians accountable for their actions. And I always want them to do their job.
For anyone to not take a vote because they 'don't think they have the votes' denies us the opportunity to find out how any of them will in fact vote. That allows them to lie to the voters and not be held accountable. They do this with legislation all the time. I send my rep's to the capital to submit, evaluate and pass legislation but to often they will not allow it to even come to a vote. Very wrong and is against what we stand for.
Bring the evidence, have the vote and judge it all accordingly.
