Because until you start saying that.. nothing gets resolved.
I'd presume in America you have an appeal system and there's checks and balances to keep Judges and their sentencing in review and I'd hope the decisions of this Judge in this case and others are put under serious investigation, based on the reported article.

Part of the problem with the system in this country is that judges are a very political thing. Many of the judges in our highest courts are appointed. Some presidents can appoint as many as 300+ judges and many of these judges sit on appeals courts and other high courts. One party can (and does) load up the judicial system with judges that share their political leanings.
In a perfect world, the process of approving their appointment should be a bipartisan thing where they ultimately end up with mostly moderate/centrist judges. But it never works that way and now those that run the appointment process are changing the rules to make it easier for the party in power to stack the courts.
I have a feeling this is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.
