I have a interest in the AT trail I've hiked a bit of it and kinda have a notion to attempt a through hike some day.. With that said I read about this yesterday but the issue with him being arrested before is the previous "assault" was he threatened some other hikers and spit on one. According to what people were saying he didn't actually physically attack anyone at that time was threats and lying to the cops that got him charged.
Meaning he supposedly didn't actually violently attack anyone but made threats. That's why he was released on bail also the witness to that assault even if it was violent wouldn't take part in the prosecution so they couldn't really stick any conviction on him if he did actually violently attack them..
