I would love to see many fewer Executive Orders. Sadly, in the partisan world we live in, they are more and more a reality. Still, they are part of the President's powers and if he signs something that is unlawful it will be challenged in court.
My problem is when the President is a terrible leader and can't get what he wants so he throws a tantrum and declares an emergency so he can just circumnavigate the rules and laws to get his way.
The other issues I have is the precedence this sets and he almost guaranteed hypocrisy that is coming. At some point we will have a Democrat as President. There is a good chance that they will then turn around and do this exact same thing and I think there is an even better chance all the Republicans who are just fine with it now will be so angry they will shit little green elk.
The snowball is just starting to roll, it would be in our best interest to squash this kind of shit before it gets out of control.
And, BTW, in recent history, Johnson, Nixon, Carter, Reagan, George W. Bush and Clinton all issued more Executive Orders than Obama and Trump is on a pace to beat them all.
