You seem to forget that WW2 was not just fought in Europe.. The US fought the naval war against Japan including many, many island invasions and also ground war with Brits and Aussies in Africa.. Russia was involved in none of this. America and the Brits fought all fronts of WW2 while Russia was mostly trying to stay alive and couldn't project any power outside of Eastern Europe.

Added to this Russia attempted to use WW2 to land grab...The US did not wall off Germany or Japan and take it over after the war but Russia sure did that to many countries...
