I think the only way to find out for sure would be to go and see for ourselves. For Greer it all started when a high ranked member of they army went there and witnessed something big. That's the video where I guy start swearing, must be on YouTube somewhere. Also many people who went to one of his expedition went back changed, including somehone who has made forturne in Silicon Valley, can remember his name. Later he was invited by France, showed this to a general there, they had set a no fly zone for the occasion.
Greer is currently doing a GoFundMe type of campaign to raise money. He is making a movie to teach people how to do this. Funding seems to go very well:
