This is true. I have an odd email address that I have only ever posted here on ONE occasion. Its real, but simply forwards to my main address. Despite it only being posted once, and being posted in a "name <AT> domain DOT com" format, it still generates me multiple spam emails each week...
God knows what a real phone number would do !
