Democrats voted to hold AG Barr and former White House Counsel Don McGahn in civil contempt
The importance of "civil contempt" vs criminal contempt is civil can not be pardoned. If put into jail they would be stuck there until they decided to comply. The same with fines.. They can be fined daily until they comply.
