Moscow population is over 15 million people + Moscow Oblast. So the whole Moscow region is about 25 millions of citizens which is about 18% of whole Russian population. Also don't forget about other big cities like Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Sochi, Ufa, Novosibirsk etc.

There are no villages in Russia. They are dead long time ago. Literately and unfortunately - Putin has finally killed them. The overage village in Russia looks like a few houses where local grandpas, grandmas and alcoholics live their last days.
