Most people in Kiev, sorry Kyiv...are speaking russian..
only if you go to the west..cities like Lviv..they are very patriotic..and will both speak and write in ukrainian. However, my lawyer in Kiev..is from Lviv..and he absolutely refuses to speak in russian with me...we always speak in english..."there is an ongoing aggression from Russia against my country". If you ask me...I think it is a bit overexaggerated..but then again..I am neither ukrainian nor russian....so who am I to have any opinions...
