In Sweden we have a long, great history...of outstanding players..the most notable...is of course...Jan-Ove Waldner...in China they call him Lao Wa..it means "the evergreen tree".
But Mattias Falck was in final in the World Championships this year...I knew Ma Long would be too hard...but still...very well done.
I was 8 years old when Sweden beat China 5-0 in the World Championships 1989 in Dortmund. Their best player at that time was Jiang Jialiang. The chinese wall fell. Then every kid..wanted to start playing tabletennis. Since then....China has been incredibly good...but...Sweden...is on the move again.
You must put in a context also...Sweden has 10 million inhabitants....China has 1 billion plus...
