Many programs don't notice that emails to affiliates are broken. I'm often naive and skip warning them, thinking they'd notice soon anyway. In most cases, they don't notice in my experience. Their emails are broken for 3 months, 6 months, sometimes even longer.

With a serious SMTP service like SparkPost you can check is messages has been sent and then opened.
