Years ago, someone wrote an actual paper letter to them, claiming to be me and saying I was moving across country. Apparently I had 'forgotten' my login details and needed access to my account in order to 'Update my new information'
Lo and behold, without even using the email on my account to check, they sent the login details to the imposter who had free access and caused chaos in my account.
Admittedly, GD sorted it out, but I never got an apology, so I moved to namecheap and I never looked back... Not the cheapest registra I know, but never a single issue in over 15 years...
