Cryout Creations Themes are very flexible and free. With either
NextGen Gallery or
Foo Gallery for the photos. NextGEN is very flexavle and Foo Gallery is lightweight. Both have a free version.
I have 10 mainstream sites running under Cryout themes with either NextGEn or Foo Gallery.
