Discussing the twitter shadowban / penalty
So, I have read an article from Twitter stating there is no shadowban, however they do have a ranking system just like Google.
I created a first twitter account. I did everything to be popular. I never posted nudes or pornographic content. I only added a link to my adult website. I posted maximum 10 tweets a day. I was careful about the words I used. I never used the words f**k, b**ch.... I never posted the same tweet twice. I never used a negative sentence about someone.
I activated the twitter analytics.
At some point after 1 month or 2. I witnessed a decrease in the number of visits from twitter. It looked like a Google penalty. It was like my whole twitter account was penalized or shadowbanned. It was not a tweet in particular.
My twitter account was not suspended and I didn't receive any warnings. I received followers from time to time. None of my pictures were hidden. None of my videos were hidden.
I have re created a new twitter account with the SAME links to my URLs and the same types of tweets. This time I received a lot of visitors.
Automated post?
I don't understand what happened. I must mention that I used a wordpress plugin to post those tweets. Those tweets were posted from my wordpress installation. The blog was blog2social. Basically, I wrote the tweet on a page of the administration of my website and it was published simultaneously on facebook, twitter and reddit. I must say that when I sent my first tweet using blog2social, a twitter bot blocked the further postings. I had to reverify my twitter account using my cellphone to unblock my twitter account. Later on I was able to post again on twitter from the plugin named blog2social.
After being "penalized", the first account traffic NEVER went back to normal.
I have some doubt about those plugins that automatically post content. I think they can be the culprit.
What do you think?
