I've had a few friends get divorced and the horror I witnessed them endure there's no way in hell I would ever put myself in situation. Both of these guys had 6 figure incomes and both ended up back living with their parents because they couldn't afford their exwife's mortgage payment, alimony, child support etc.
My sister just got divorced after 10 years of marriage. The poor son of a bitch has to pay her this ridiculous alimony payment till he retires (in 9 years) and then she gets 30% of his pension...FOR LIFE! And he has to cover her heath insurance... FOR LIFE!!
Check your local alimony laws before you jump into anything.
