That's not even started in Russia. The firearms here are still legal and you can buy a semi-automatic version of AK47 or M4 via the Internet. I believe that firearms must be forbidden for civilians.
Hollywood shows us Americans like a special nation which have a right for firearms. The movie and the reality are very different, actually. This is a Russian school:
These are not staged videos. The people here learn firearms as kids. I have learned AK47 when I was 6 years old. My father has took me to the school to teach me how to assemble and dissemble the rifle. And yes my school had a 50 meter shooting range in the basement.
To be honest, we all more responsible about guns. We also had mass shootings done by kids in colleges (with their own LEGAL firearms), but a way less than you have them in the USA.
