What are the best ways of earning money writing?

All I want is to sign up with some sort of online agency, start writing in my own time and get paid. If I need some extra cash I work, if I don't I don't.

I really don't want to jump through hoops to sign up either. Some of these guys want your sit exams that go on for days and at the end it takes weeks before they do anything.

Who do you guys use?
