Figuring outr the issue is not "spoonfeeding". Investigation is a legitimate part of any job.
Every site is different even if they are all Wordpress based, they are different. Diffrent hosts, different plugins, different versions of WP, different versions of PHP, different versions of Databases,
So, to figure out an issue a person might have to go through turning plugins on and off and observing the results. If done properly they will try to limit their changes to the smallest number of variables on each change.
That takes physical time. Shouldn't they get paid for it? And shouldn't they be paid based on their expertise?
Knowing how to de-bug properly (which is what we are talking about here) is a skill that takes a long time to learn and even longer to master. Pretty much anybody can write code, not everybody can debug.
