Why? He is the owner of the park and the lions know who he is, even if they are wild. You just haven't got my point. He should not afraid the animals (they obey him). The gangsters want his land in Crimea to build apartment houses and supermarkets there. And this guy still is a Putin's fan. This is amazing. The Putin's criminals are those who is a danger for him. Not animals who he knows, feels and speaks the same language. The Putin's people are his real enemy. They don't play by fair rules. They kill or send you to a prison (and then kill there).
P.S. There is a video where a lion female stole a visitor's property. That man said to a pride prime lion to punish her for that and she was immediately bitten in the ass
