I don't know the exact details of what I want, but I'm almost positive that it's out there somewhere... as bad as that sounds. I wouldn't know what to ask for in a custom script so the freelance route seems risky.
We had most or all of this CTR functionality in the TGP scripts 15 years ago, but now I've just been hearing WordPress is enough. It doesn't seem to be enough, but maybe I'm missing something.
Mechbunny TGP Script may be close to it, but I hear it never really took off and it's now abandoned (taken off the top menu of their site). And the demo site for it just doesn't connect. From what I can tell in the product specs, it can do "homepage sorted by CTR" which is great, but it can't take CTR in to account when choosing related posts (instead its only based on title/keywords, no more than WordPress can do already).
WP-Scipt seems to be still alive and kicking, and I've heard good things, but none of their plugins and themes seem to even attempt this.
xPins has a demo site that does connect. The page loads very strangely for having only 6 pieces of content to show. It's a bad script or the host can't handle it. Either way, not a good look, and I don't think it has the functionality anyway.
That's all I've found so far I think.
