Nothing to do with BS or newbies. Most media buyers prefer PPL as they are able to immediately tell if a source is profitable for them via PPL vs waiting for PPS or revshare revenues to come in, thus potentially resulting in a greater loss on what ultimately winds up being an unprofitable source.
Now, those with quality internal traffic sources (that don't have such a large or competitive cost model) will generally make more in the long term via the other revenue models.
But PPL absolutely has it's place.
