If OF is such a porn cash cow, models working for themselves and the state of the industry in general these days. What does this say about the online industry's approach to marketing in the good days?

In 2020 the industry loses 99.99% of it's traffic toTubes and pirates. Prior to 2006 there was no tubes, pirating wasn't a problem. So what is it that OF does now that the industry didn't do in 2006?

Are models better at driving good traffic to OF sites, are they getting 600 views to a sample to convert at 1-200 to their sites or was the industry getting it wrong?

So many sites were obsessed with giving away tons of free mediocre content. On as many sites as possible by as many affiliates as possible the market was saturated with medocre content and marketed that missed the point. What the buyer wants.

Yes there were exceptions, Met-Art level, great looking girls, exclusive, well shot and beautifully presented. They were the exception and made money.
