Yep.

You can get good drives from Seagate or Western Digital. You'll want to buy the NAS level drives, like this: https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-IronW...647MNN4HEKQ9H0

Synology has a proprietary RAID system which runs right around 2/3 of storage space. What this means for you: if you need 20 TB of storage, go ahead and get at least 4 x 10 TB drives. This gives roughly 40 "total" TB, but around 26 TB usable space for your data.

I would recommend 12 TB drives just to save you any hassle later. You can always daisychain another NAS if needed as well but that's just more equipment for you to purchase.
