But again, would you be willing to do what you asked me to? To NOT accept the easy answer when it comes to what you hear in the media? In this case, the efficacy of lock downs and masks?

I hope so because like you said, it's killing people, the government's response that is - and it's not stopping the virus from doing what it does.
